Restrictions in Bihar

On 31st May, 2021, the Government of Bihar issued a notification regarding the restrictions to be imposed in the State:

1) Restrictions are to be imposed from 02/06/2021 to 08/06/2021.

2) All Government offices will be open until 4PM with 25% attendance. Non-Government offices will remain closed for now.

3) The only exception to this are essential services in the form of District Administration, Police, Civil Defense, Fire Brigades, Electricity, Water, Sanitation, Postal Department, Treasury, Disaster Management etc. Offices relating to procurement of food grains, and Department of Forest and Climate change shall work as usual.

4) All shops and establishments will be open between 6:00AM and 2:00PM. The exceptions to this are Banking services and ATMs, Industrial and Manufacturing work, Construction work of all types, e-commerce activities, agricultural and related activities, print and electronic media, telecommunications, Petrol Pumps, LPG, Petroleum and food vendors etc.

5) Hospitals, Medical shops and clinics shall be open as usual.

6) Vehicles are banned with the following exceptions:

(a) Public transport shall operate at 50% capacity

(b) Medical vehicles and ambulances shall operate as usual

(c) Vehicles with passengers going to the railway station or airport shall operate providing they have the ticket.

(d) Private vehicles of Government servants on duty

(e) M.B.B.S candidates who are going to interview with the Health Department

7) All schools and educational institutions will be shut.

8) Restaurants are not permitted to allow in-house dining. Deliveries are permitted between 9AM and 9PM. Room delivery for hotel guests is permissible

9) All social, political, religious, entertainment and sporting events in public places are prohibited.

10) A maximum of 20 people may be present in a marriage or a funeral.
