Delhi HC-Patient cannot be forced to donate plasma upon recovery.

On 3rd May, 2021 the High Court of Delhi passed a judgment stating that a law or policy for compulsory donation of plasma cannot be enacted. Relevant extracts of the said Judgment have been reproduced below-

“We can neither compel the respondents to draft a law or policy for compulsory donation of plasma nor we can give any direction to persons, who have recovered from Covid-19 after plasma therapy, to donate plasma for the benefit of other patients suffering from Covid-19. “
