Shelter Homes for Transgender Persons in Assam

On 29th April, 2021, the Gauhati High Court directed the Assam Government to finance three shelter homes for transgender people in Assam.

“In view thereof, we pass an interim mandamus directing the Social Welfare Department to make arrangement for finances for these three shelter homes, at least an interim arrangement be made so that at least for the next two months these shelter homes can run properly.”
