Protective measures in Stay Homes/Orphanages/Child Health Care Homes: Odisha

On 25th May, 2021, the Government of Odisha laid down certain preventative measures to be followed in stay homes/orphanages/child health care homes:

1) Physical distancing between staff members and inmates of atleast six feet must be maintained all times possible

2) Face covers/masks are mandatory

3) Frequent hand washing must be practiced

4) Respiratory etiquettes like covering one’s mouth and nose while coughing or sneezing should be followed

5) Inmates must undergo a COVID test upon arrival

6) Entrance will have mandatory sanitizer dispenser and thermal screening provisions. Specific markings can be made with sufficient distance to manage the queue and ensure social distancing.

7) Isolation rooms must be earmarked for the isolation of suspected cases.

8) Rooms must be given proper spacing to ensure social distancing and there must not be more than two students/inmates in a room.

9) Students are encouraged to maintain proper ventilation in their rooms by keeping their windows and doors open.

10) If an inmate is found positive, they will be shifted to the isolation centre in the hostel/Home and the MOIC of DHH/SDH/CHC MO I/C and the guardians would be informed and the student will be shifted to the hospital if necessary.

11) The District IDSP Control Room must be informed regarding any symptomatic inmates suffering from Fever, Cough, Sore Throat and diarrhea for further assistance.
