Extension of lockdown in Odisha

On 30th May, 2021, the Government of Odisha has decided to extend the lockdown to 5:00AM of 17th June, 2021 with the following guidelines:

1) Tracking, testing and containment shall be continued by the District Collector and Municipal Commissioners.

2) There will be complete shutdowns on weekends from 6PM Fridays to 5AM Mondays. All commercial establishments excluding medicine and pharmaceuticals shall be closed. However, home delivery of food and essentials are permitted. There are no restrictions on COVID testing centres and vaccination centres.

3) The lockdown is to restrict the movement of people therefore, the movement of goods and goods carriers shall not be affected by the lockdown.

4) However, vaccination shall continue like before, depending on availability in Covid Vaccination Centres.

5) Marriages shall be permitted with not more than 25 people. Thread Ceremonies/Bratopanayans/Funerals shall have a maximum of 20 people. No feast shall be served and only take away food shall be permitted.

6) People coming into Odisha from other states shall have to produce a Rapid Antigen Test within 48 hours of entering Odisha. People coming without such a report shall have to undergo 7 days mandatory home/institutional quarantine/paid quarantine.

7) All shops shops shall be opened in Sundargarh, Nuapada and Gajapati districts from 7:00AM to 1:00PM on weekdays. IN other places, only shops that sell essential items are allowed to be open, and between 7:00AM and 11:00AM.

8) Public transport by buses will remain suspended unless its the transport of goods/cargo/emergency services.

10) Individuals who violated lockdowns can face legal action under s. 188 of the IPC and other relevant provisions.
