Jammu Kashmir issues guidelines for patient care

On 16th May, 2021 the Government of Jammu and Kashmir issued an order for management of COVID patients in hospitals. Some of these guidelines have been reproduced below-

  1. No patient shall be denied admission to a hospital or treatment facility just because they do not have a COVID positive test result.

  2. DC’s will activate all the 20,000 COVID Care Centre beds in districts for admitting COVID positive patients with no or mild symptoms and cannot do home isolation. Further, CCC’s will be opened closer to rural areas. Health Department will work out the feasibility of providing some of these CCC beds with oxygen support.

  3. COVID testing should become more targeted and focus on areas with high positivity and on unvaccinated population.

  4. All COVID positive patients will be provided Corona kits.

  5. Health Dept will ensure establishment of Telemedicine arrangements in all districts to enable patients to call and consult doctors.
