Arunachal releases new guidelines for the ‘containment of the pandemic’ till 31st May.

On 8th May, 2021 the Government of Arunachal issued an order under the Disaster Management Act for measures to be taken to contain the spread of the virus. This shall include a night curfew and restrictions on meetings/gatherings. The said guidelines shall be applicable till the 31st of May.

Some of these guidelines have been reproduced below-

“1. Tourist ILPs shall remain suspended during the period of this order.

2. At all religious places, congregation of not more than five persons shall be allowed at any time.

3. Funeral/last rites related gatherings shall not exceed more than 20 persons for each deceased.

4. For marriages, only religious ceremony will be allowed with presence of maximum of 20 persons. No reception parties will be allowed for post or pre marriage functions.

5. Only 50% of Group C category staff shall come to Government offices.

6. There shall be total ban on movement of individuals from 6:30Pm to 5:00AM daily, except for the following exemptions, subject to COVID-19 appropriate behaviour:-

  1. All officials and persons, both government and private involved in Emergency Services, Disaster Response activities, Law Enforcement Agencies, Defence and Para Military Forces and all other Essential Services on production of valid identity card.”
