Arunachal imposes fine of Rs.500 on people not wearing masks, Rs. 300 for spitting in public places.

On 8th May, 2021 the Government of Arunachal Pradesh issued a notification with revised guidelines to curb the spread of the virus. Penalty provisions were also mentioned for persons not wearing masks or those found to be spitting in public places.

Relevant extracts of the said guidelines have been reproduced below-

Any person not wearing face mask and/or spitting in public places shall be fined to the tune of Rs. 500/- & Rs. 200/- respectively vide earlier Notification No. Secy (Health)/SOP-11/2020/120 dated 31st August 2020 which can be imposed by District Administration.”
