Maharashtra Govt. to consider door to door vaccination for elderly and differently abled.

On 22nd April, 2021 the High Court of Bombay sought to clarify the questions raised on door to door vaccination of certain special interest groups such as the elderly and the differently abled community. It was determined that if the vaccines could be properly refrigerated and transported, then such facilities must be made available to these groups to limit their exposure.

Relevant extracts of the said judgment have been reproduced below-

โ€œIf indeed proper temperature control measures are taken and personnel well trained to vaccinate together with the vaccine are made to travel in appropriate vehicles for reaching duly identified elderly and disabled citizens, who could benefit by reason of such vaccination, we see no reason as to why this particular reason could hinder adoption of a door-to-door vaccination policy.โ€
