Functioning of markets, religious/cultural programmes, marriage and funerals to continue in WB in a restricted manner

On 5th May, 2021, the West Bengal Government has imposed stricter covid 19 restrictions until any further notice from the Government

The following activities are permitted on a restricted basis:

1.    With the prior permission of local authorities or with a notification to the administration, up to 50 persons may be allowed to gather with physical distancing and COVID-consistent behaviour for religious and cultural programmes.

2.    Attendance at familial gatherings like marriage will not exceed 50 persons at a time. Attendance at funerals will not exceed 20 persons.

3.    Bazaars/ hats, stand-alone shops to open only during 7AM to 10AM and 5PM to 7PM. Jewellery shops will be open from 12PM (noon) to PM from Monday to Friday.

These restrictions DO NOT APPLY to medical, grocery, and sweetmeat shops and milk supply booths, or to all centres relating to health, fire services, electricity, telecom, and municipal services. Online and home delivery services are permitted.
