Legal action for flouting face mask mandate in public places in West Bengal

As per an order of the West Bengal Government dated 12.04.2021, it had been made mandatory to wear face masks/facial cover in public places.

Subsequently, on the 24th April, the Government has empowered any police officer (not below the rank of Inspector of Police within West Bengal or Kolkata Police) to ensure and enforce the mandatory use of face mask/facial cover in public places and initiate appropriate legal action against any person not wearing facial mask in public.
