Blind and differently abled persons exempt from attending office.

On 3rd May 2021, the Government of Kerala issued an order exempting blind and other differently abled persons from directly attending the office for duty. The exemption was granted based on a representation sent to them by the ‘Organisation of Blind’.

Relevant extracts of the said order have been reproduced below-

“Government examined the matter in detail and are pleased to exempt the blind and other disabled persons from directly attending the office for duty owing to their dependence on touch and to some extent on human assistance while commuting in public transport until further orders. From among the above, the employees who are able to do work from home shall be allowed.”
