Night curfew in Tripura till 31st May, 2021

On 3rd May, 2021 the Government of Tripura issued a notification under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code imposing a night curfew between 6pm and 5am from 4th May, 2021 till 31st May, 2021. The same will be applicable in the area of Agartala Municipal Corporation, Ranirbazar Municipal Council, Mohanpur Municipal Council and Jirania Nagar Panchayat.

Relevant extracts of the said order have been reproduced below-

“Exemption from Night Curfew

1. Hospitals, Pharmacies, Pathological/ Radiological laboratories.

2. Movement of Military/ Paramilitary force and state police personnel engaged for maintenance of Law and Order.

3. Media persons having valid identity cards and on news coverage duty.

4. Movement of patients requiring medical treatment.

Any person violating these prohibitory measures shall be liable to be prosecuted under Section 188 of IPC and other legal provisions in force.
