Puducherry issues order to take over 100% of bed capacity in 5 private medical colleges

On 15th May, 2021 the Government of Puducherry issued an order to take over 1005 of bed capacity in the following five private medical colleges in Puducherry for treating COVID patients-

  1. Sri Lakshmi Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences

  2. Sri Venkateswara Medical College Hospital and research Centre

  3. Aarupadai Veedu Medical College

  4. Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences

  5. Vinayaka Mission Medical College Hospital

Such allotment should be across all categories of beds available in the hospital, specifically including oxygen beds and ICUs. The private hospitals are instructed to avoid elective and planned admissions till further orders from the Government.
