MoHFW releases guidelines for management of COVID-19 in adult patients.
On 19th May, 2021 the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare released the clinical guidance for management of adult COVID-19 patients. The cases have been bifurcated into three broad categories of mild, moderate and severe based on factors such as the respiratory rate.
Mild Disease-
Upper respiratory tract symptoms (&/or fever) WITHOUT shortness of breath or hypoxia
Home Isolation and Care
Moderate disease-
Respiratory rate >= 24/min, breathlessness
SpO2: 90% to <= 93% on room air
Admit in Ward
Severe disease-
Respiratory rate >30/min, breathlessness
SpO2< 90% on room air
Admit in ICU
