Hospital rates set for hospitals in Andhra Pradesh

On 30th April, 2021 the Government of Andhra Pradesh recognised that several private hospitals in the State were charging beyond the reasonable cost and the economic capabilities of the patients. In order to curtail this, the Government issued a notification regulating the prices to be charged by the private nursing homes and private hospitals in providing quality care to COVID patients. The charges have been given below for your convenience-

  • Non-critical COVID-19 treatment-

    • Rate per day (In Rs.) NABH Hospitals- Rs. 4,000/-

    • Rate per day (In Rs.) in non-NABH Hospitals- Rs.3,600/-

  • Non-Critical COVID 19 Treatment with O2

    • Rate per day (In Rs.) NABH Hospitals- Rs. 6,500/-

    • Rate per day (In Rs.) in non-NABH Hospitals- Rs.5,850/-

  • Critical COVID Treatment in ICU with NIV (CPAP, BIPAP, HFNO)

    • Rate per day (In Rs.) NABH Hospitals- Rs. 12,000/-

    • Rate per day (In Rs.) in non-NABH Hospitals- Rs.10,800/-

  • Critical COVID Treatment in ICU with Invasive Ventilator Support

    • Rate per day (In Rs.) NABH Hospitals- Rs. 16,000/-

    • Rate per day (In Rs.) in non-NABH Hospitals- Rs.14,400/-

  • Patient inclusions are: Consultation, Nursing Charges, Room Stay & Meals, COVID testing, Monitoring & Investigations – Biochemistry, Microbiology & Imaging; Physiotherapy, PPEs used, Drugs & Medical Consumables required, Biochemical Waste Management & other Protective gear, Bed side procedures like Ryles tube insertion, urinary tract Catheterization.

  • The HR CT charges shall be charged @ Rs.3000/- inclusive of film, report and other consumables.

  • The Inj Remdesivir shall be charged @ Rs.2,500/- per vail and Inj Tocilizumab shall be charged @ Rs.30000/-, if used for the patient.

  • If any hospital is found to be charging more than the rates as indicated at Para - (3) above, they shall be levied a penalty which shall be 10 times of the additional charges by the concerned DMHO and if any hospital or clinical establishment is found to be repeating the same on three occasions, such hospital shall be prosecuted as per provisions of IPC besides action as per Clinical Establishment Act.
