No posters to be stuck on doors of the infected.
The Supreme Court clarified that the State and Union Territory governments cannot place posters on the doors of those infected with COVID-19 as it is a serious violation of their fundamental rights, right to privacy and the right to live with dignity. Relevant extracts of the judgment have been reproduced below-
โWe only observe that no State or Union Territory is required to paste posters outside the residence of COVID-19 positive persons, as of now. The State Governments and Union Territories can resort the above exercise only when any direction is issued by the competent authority under the Disaster Management Act, 2005.โ
