Karnataka issues notification capping prices of private ambulance services

On 21st May, 2021 the Government of Karnataka issued a notification issued a notification for the maximum prices which can be charged by private ambulance services. A summary of the price has been given below-

  • Patient Transport Ambulance (PTA)-

    • Maximum rate-Rs. 1,500/- per call upto 10km and Rs. 120 for every additional km

      (including oxygen, ambulance equipment, PPE kit, gloves, mask shield, sanitisation, driver, EMT, etc.)

    • Waiting charges (per hour or part thereof)- Rs. 200/-

  • Basic Life Support Ambulance (BLSA)-

    • Maximum rate-Rs. 2,000/- per call upto 10km and Rs. 120 for every additional km

      (including oxygen, ambulance equipment, PPE kit, gloves, mask shield, sanitisation, driver, EMT, etc.)

    • Waiting charges (per hour or part thereof)- Rs. 250/-
